On a chilly January day, while taking a stroll in the Lincoln Park neighborhood of Chicago, Illinois, I stumbled upon a sign that caught my attention. It was either in or near the area, but what stood out more was the fact that I had been daydreaming about escaping the Midwest and venturing off to a place that felt exotic and unknown to me – like Ukraine.
