Looking back, I must say that Symba’s freestyle on Charlie Sloth’s “Fire in the Booth” show was hands down my favorite hip-hop/rap freestyle of the 2022 year on the hip-hop music scene. Take a look at the fire freestyle showcased in the video below.
Symba’s Rise to Hip-Hop Prominence: From Basketball Courts to Studio Sessions
In the world of hip-hop, many artists dream of making it big and being recognized for their lyrical prowess. For Symba, that dream has been years in the making. From a young age, Symba was known in the Bay Area for his basketball skills, but it wasn’t until he picked up a microphone that he found his true calling.
At just 13 years old, Symba was already showing a talent for battle rapping, going around school and challenging other kids to rap battles. But it wasn’t until he started spending time in the studio that he began to truly develop his sound.
In his junior year of high school, Symba’s music caught the attention of a girl in one of his classes, which made him fully commit to pursuing a career in music. He left basketball behind and began to focus all of his energy on writing and recording music.
In 2017, Symba signed a deal with Columbia Records, but when things didn’t work out there due to a staff overhaul, he went independent in 2018. A year later, he landed another deal with Atlantic Records and released the project “Don’t Run From R.A.P. [Responsibilities and Principles]” which showcased his lyrical abilities and earned him recognition from fans and fellow artists alike.
Symba’s freestyling abilities have also gained him attention, including from basketball superstar LeBron James, who posted about Symba’s impressive L.A. Leakers freestyle on his Instagram story. Symba’s ability to jump on any beat and go comes from the extensive memory of verses he’s already crafted. He’s got a stellar skill to branch off to written raps and bars he comes up with on the spot.
Despite his success, Symba remains humble and focused on perfecting his craft. He is a classic lyricist with modern flows, and his ability to rhyme with the best of them while still maintaining a unique style sets him apart from other artists.
In conclusion, Symba’s journey to hip-hop prominence has been a long and winding road, but his dedication to his craft and his undeniable talent have earned him the respect and recognition he deserves. As he continues to make music and hone his skills, we can only expect bigger and better things from this rising star in the hip-hop world.
