Forty years after the iconic premiere of Purple Rain, Prince fans have a new opportunity to dive deeper into his world, courtesy of Airbnb. For a limited time, starting this week, a select group of fans can stay at the very house featured in the 1984 movie, immersing themselves in the cultural legacy of one of the greatest music legends of all time.

Up to 100 fans will get the chance to experience this unique Airbnb listing in Minneapolis, Prince’s hometown, over the course of seven weeks. For just $7 per night—a nod to Prince’s favorite number—groups of up to four guests can rent the two-story house, which became an iconic symbol in Purple Rain. The rental experience will be available for 25 nights between October 26 and December 14, and it promises a true rock star experience, blending nostalgia with Prince’s unmistakable flair.

The unassuming white house with brown trim may look ordinary from the outside, but inside, it’s a different story. The home has been transformed to honor Prince’s legacy, and guests will find themselves surrounded by treasures from the artist’s world. Upstairs, a wardrobe room features iconic paisley wallpaper and a leopard-spotted floor, where some of Prince’s famous outfits are on display. Guests can even try on a selection of ‘80s-inspired styles and embrace their inner rock star, stepping into Prince’s flamboyant shoes—if only for a night.

Lisa Coleman and Wendy Melvoin, two close collaborators and lifelong friends of Prince, have partnered with Airbnb to host this one-of-a-kind stay, alongside Warner Bros. Discovery and the late musician’s estate. It’s not just a home rental; it’s an immersive experience.

The basement, meticulously designed to mirror The Kid’s bedroom from the movie, features lavender pillows and even a 1980s cassette player, making the experience feel like a true time capsule. Guests can relax in the lounge and play instruments, including a guitar, drums, or upright piano—just like Prince would have done. QR codes placed throughout the house lead to special commentary from the hosts, adding to the immersive nature of the stay.

Purple, of course, dominates the decor, as a tribute to Prince’s signature color. Among the most eye-catching elements is a large piece of wall art featuring purple bananas—a cheeky reference to the famous “Let’s Go Crazy” lyrics.

Reservations for this unforgettable stay open from 6 a.m. PT on October 2 through 11:59 p.m. PT on October 6. Fans will have to submit their reasons for wanting to stay, and a lucky few will be chosen at random. For true Prince devotees, this is a chance to live out the ultimate fan fantasy—spending a night in the world of Purple Rain, surrounded by the magic of the music legend’s life and legacy.

If you’re ready to celebrate the 40th anniversary of Purple Rain in true style, channel your inner Kid, and book this extraordinary experience before it’s gone.
