Is Russia getting severed from the global Internet? The following video from TechAltar explores the reality of the international community cutting off Russia’s connection and Russia’s ability to form its own RuNet. Russia’s disconnection from the global Internet is happening on five distinct levels: domains, cross-border traffic, applications, cloud services, and content.

The video covers Ukraine’s request to remove Russian domains from ICANN to disconnect Russia from the global Internet while also displaying Russia’s initiative to build a national DNS system to compete with ICANN. As you will see, the desire to remove Russia from the international technology community is a desire of both the rest of the world and Russia.
